What do they say about me?
We often chat and laugh next to the loom, and Éva points out with subtle remarks what brings a piece of work to life. Her knowledge is not only technical, but also human: she teaches us how to be present—in the material, in the movement, and a little bit in ourselves as well.
More About Me
Who am I?
Art is my most important means of expression, the language of my existence. On this page, I would like to share with you the path that led me to the world of textile art and the creed that permeates each of my creations. Learn about my story, my mentors, and the milestones that shaped my career.
My love of art dates back to the Secondary School of Art in Pécs, where painter László Valkó and textile artist Diana Bizséné Kovács launched my career. In 1984, I graduated from the Hungarian College of Applied Arts with a degree in tapestry, where I had the opportunity to study under such outstanding masters as János Miklós Kádár, János Szabó, Károly Plesnivy, Margit Szilvitzky, and Csaba Polgár.
At the beginning of my career, I focused on depicting nature, working with classic tapestry techniques and subtle color transitions. One day, however, an exhibition theme inspired me to explore new paths and materials. This is when my work entitled “Lelet” (Find) was born, which marked the beginning of a new era: I began to combine elaborate tapestry with coarse, hand-woven hemp sackcloth. This contrast was not only an aesthetic experiment, but also a reflection of the complexity of today’s world.
